Yeast Infection is a signal telling you something is wrong inside your body. The only way you can cure it, is by listening to what your body is trying to tell you and work with it. This infection is one of those embarrassing topics that are off limits and personal. Normally, you hardly hear someone confess that they are suffering from it.
Yeast infection is caused by an overgrown fungus known as Candida Albicans. It is most commonly affects the vaginal region, particularly during the times of menstruation.
You are advised to seek consultation from doctors if it is your first infection and you are unsure at all. This is simply because symptoms of other infections can resemble yeast infections. There are few symptoms to tell you that you are infected, such as symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection include pain and discomfort when performing normal bodily functions such as urinating, during sexual activity or sexual intercourse. There may also be an itching and irritation or burning sensation of the vagina.
Treatment for an acute infection is difficult and involves one of many oral or vaginal anti-fungal medications. Treatment can be topical, oral, or both. Topical treatment is best used for localized spots of infection while oral medication would be better applied to larger infected areas. Treatments come in a wide range of forms including pills and vaginal creams, which may need to be taken anywhere from one dose to a week-long course of medication. It is important that the treatment to be continued for the entire time the medicine was prescribed.
There are few things that you should take note when you are infected. Avoid wearing jeans, legging or pantyhose every day can relieve you of your yeast infection for a short period of time. Avoidance of synthetic fiber pants and underpants is recommended, even if synthetic clothing articles are constructed with cotton shields. Ventilation and evaporation of moisture are essential.
